For Certified Prescribed Burn Managers
You must be a certified burn manager to qualify for this coverage:
- Burns must be conducted only when at least one certified prescribed burn manager is supervising the burn or burns that are being conducted.
- A burning permit is obtained from the State Forestry Commission.
- The burn is conducted pursuant to ALL state laws and rules applicable to prescribed burning.
Required materials:
- Copy of Prescribed Burn Certification
- Currently valued insurance company loss runs for the current policy period plus 3 prior years (If unavailable, provide a signed statement outlining any known losses.)
For Landowners
The policy is rated based on payroll with a minimum premium of $350. The policy period is 90 days.
The following conditions must be met:
- The burn is to be accomplished only when at least one certified prescribed burn manager is supervising the burn or burns that are being conducted.
- A written prescription is prepared and witnessed or notarized prior to prescribed burning.
- A burning permit is obtained from the State Forestry Commission.
- The burn is conducted pursuant to ALL state laws and rules applicable to prescribed burning.
